The new Integrated Results Management Team strengthens the Monitoring & Evaluation, programme quality assurance and communications. The Joint Operations Centre provides business support not only to the UNDP but also to some UN agencies in and outside the Pacific, accelerating effectiveness and efficiency of services by maximizing the economy of scale.
The UNDP Pacific Office in Fiji will also support the upcoming creation and management of an Asia-Pacific SIDS Engagement Facility serving for 15 countries, which will constitute a virtual platform for UNDP to provide technical expertise and policy leadership on high priority, and emerging issues in the Pacific, and scale up investments in research, knowledge products, convening of development dialogues and debates, as well as facilitating South-South and Triangular Cooperation. The Technical capacity resources for this facility will be sourced from within the Pacific Office as well as from the UNDP Asia-Pacific Hub in Bangkok, UNDP worldwide and through collaboration with the regional institutions, UN agencies and other relevant partners.
UNDP looks forward to an enhanced level of collaboration and partnership at the country and regional level with Governments and partners to bring about the effective delivery of the SAMOA Pathway and the 2030 Development Agenda in the Pacific.
I know you all join me in wishing the UNDP Pacific Office in Fiji every success!
