The Media Council of Papua New Guinea President Alexander Rheeney said: “Journalists need to be equipped to effectively cover Papua New Guinea’s development challenges. The one-week training by Thomson Reuters will go a long way in enabling them to appreciate those challenges and the role that they can play – as journalists – to contribute to public debate and create positive outcomes for the affected people. The selected journalists are privileged to be undertaking this training, thanks to the United Nations. ”
Selected journalists are from different media outlets including the National Broadcasting Corporation, EMTV, TV Wan, the National, Post-Courier, Sunday Chronicle, Wantok Niuspepa, FM100, PNGFM, and Loop PNG. Training takes place between 29th August and 2nd September in Port Moresby.
