High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development Adopts Declaration of Commitment to Ambitious, People-centred Post-2015 Agenda

The High-level Political Forum for Sustainable Development closed its eight-day annual session today with the adoption of a declaration that committed ministers from around the world to establishing a “strong, universal, ambitious, inclusive and people-centred” post-2015 development agenda that completed the unfinished business of the Millennium Development Goals and responded to new challenges. 14th Session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues

The 14th Session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues will take place from 20 April to 1 May in New York. More than 1,000 indigenous participants from all regions of the world are expected to take part in the two-week session.The opening session is on Monday, 20 April at 11:00 hrs in the General Assembly with a traditional welcome ceremony.  The Deputy Secretary-General will be in attendance along with the President of the General Assembly, the Vice President of ECOSOC and the Under-Secretary-General for DESA.
