Registration now open for the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples

The High-level Meeting of the General Assembly, to be known as the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples will take place on 22 September and on the afternoon of 23 September 2014 at UN Headquarters in New York. 

The World Conference shall result in a concise, action-oriented outcome document, taking account of the views of both Member States and indigenous peoples.

The conference Outcome Document should contribute to the realization of the rights of indigenous peoples, pursue the objectives of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and promote the achievement of all internationally agreed development goals.

Registration is open for: Organizations and institutions of indigenous peoples; non-governmental organizations in consultative status with ECOSOC; relevant non-governmental and civil society organizations, academic institutions, national human rights institutions and the private sector.
