Anti-poverty goals and set stage towards sustainable future to be highlighted at the UN

A number of major events during the High-level week of the UN General Assembly will focus on accelerating achievement of the Millennium Development Goals and setting the stage for the post-2015 development agenda.

Since 2000, the world has come together to achieve historic results in fighting poverty and its consequences. Global poverty continues to decline. The Millennium Development Goals have catalyzed the most successful anti-poverty initiative in history. Today there’s still a lot to be done and there are new global challenges to tackle. In 2015, people and leaders must agree on new goals and take action to improve the world for current and future generations.
