International Organisations Day at the Australian National University

On 21 August 2015, UNIC Canberra took part in the International Organisations Day, a careers event organised annually by the Australian National University. The day consists of keynote speakers, a panel discussion, individual presentations from participating organisations and a careers fair.

With over 200 university students attending UNIC Canberra presented on the career opportunities with the United Nations as well as had an information table where participants could ask their questions and pick up information materials on the work of the United Nations. Other UN family organisations present at the event included UNFPA and UNHCR.

The event provided an opportunity for students to hear from representatives of various international organisations on how to plan and build a career within the international field. Other employers attending included the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID), Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT), the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), Engineers without Borders and Teach for Australia.
