Media accreditation for the World Humanitarian Summit

Media accreditation is strictly reserved for members of the press – print, photo, radio, TV, film, news agencies and online media who represent a bona fide media organization. No double accreditation is allowed (e.g. as press and delegate or as press and NGO).

Pre-accreditation opens on 11 April 2016 and closes 13 May 2016.

The Summit will take place at the Istanbul Congress Center (ICC) and side events, exhibition fair and innovation marketplace will be held in the adjacent Lutfi Kirdar Convention & Exhibition Centre (LKCC) in Istanbul, Turkey (Address: Harbiye, 34367 Şişli, Istanbul, Turkey).

Issuing of Summit badges will begin on Wednesday, 18 May 2016 in Istanbul at the United Nations Accreditation Centre located at the Hilton Convention Centre. Instructions on picking up the badge are below.

How to request media accreditation:

Media representatives are required to complete the following steps:

Step 1: Submit an application on the UN accreditation system filling out the below personal information form.

Step 2: Send a request for accreditation on official letterhead of a media organisation, signed by the Publisher, Editor-in-chief or Assignment Editor, indicating the name and duration of assignment of the journalist who will cover the conference. The letter can be scanned and sent to or fax the letter to 212-963-4642.

Step 3: Provide links to two by-lined articles/report/photos published within the past month.


Approved media will receive a confirmation email at the address provided in the online form.

Incomplete requests (without a letter of assignment or completed form of accreditation) will not be processed.


How to pick up your media badge

When picking up your pass at the accreditation site, you will need to present a printout of the confirmation email, along with a current passport from a State recognized by the United Nations General Assembly.

**A visa may be required for entry into Turkey. Please check with the nearest Turkish Embassy/Consulate.
