Clear evidence of chemical weapons use in Syria

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon briefs the press following Security Council consultations on the Report of the Mission to Investigate Allegations of the Use of Chemical Weapons in the Syrian Arab Republic. The Report concluded that chemical weapons were used in the Ghouta area of Damascus on 21 August, 2013. 16 September 2013 United Nations, New York Photo # 560944A United Nations team probing the possible use of chemical weapons in Syria has found “clear and convincing evidence” that Sarin gas was used in an incident that occurred on 21 August in the Ghouta area on the outskirts of Damascus in which hundreds of people were reportedly killed.
